GLOBAL MINISTRY

Ron Lewis' ministry and passion for the local church and the lost extends to a global level. Through his leadership, Ron has helped over 100 full-time ministers get trained and launched into the mission field. He has been involved in at least 30 church plants in various nations including Africa, China, South Korea, North Korea, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Guam, Taiwan, and Scotland. Many of these works are assisted financially through a non-profit organization that Ron formed called Strategic Global Initiatives (SGI), with the vision of supporting the labors and works of worthy causes that uphold and defend the cause of the oppressed and the forgotten from all over the world.

In 1995, Ron Lewis walked through an open door into the nation of China, resulting in the formation of Strategic China Initiative- SCI (strategicchina.org), a ministry that develops and supports training centers that equip Chinese pastors with theological foundations, leadership development, and practical ministry skills.

To date, SCI has trained more than 50,000 leaders, distributed over 30 tons of literature, printed and distributed nearly one million Bibles throughout China, and has sent out over 100 full-time Chinese pastors to reach some of the 500 minority groups within China.

Ron continues to work with SCI, serving and consulting with many of the key leaders of the underground house church movement in China. In addition, he is active in educating and lobbying politicians and human rights groups on behalf of the persecuted church in China. Through the work of SCI, Ron has developed a close friendship and working partnership with EQUIP, a ministry dedicated to global leadership development founded by renowned author and speaker John Maxwell.
Ron had a close, personal relationship with the late Reverend Harald Bredesen whom he considered a loyal friend and a great mentor. Bredesen's life-long ministry to world leaders that is well chronicled in modern church history has been a great inspiration to Lewis' global calling.
